: Cool Box, Love the joinery... ? why is it called a "Bible box" ?

It's called a bible box because I built it to put a bible in. This might sound odd, but I have an very large old family bible once owned by my great great grandfather. I figured I would keep the bible for at least a few years, and it deserved a box of it's own after all this time.

Bible boxes are actually very traditional, they were apparently one of the few things immigrant families would bring over on the boat hundreds of years ago.

BTW, my original plans didn't call for a drawer, but I though it would look better, so what should I put in it?
And on that note, should I have handles on the sides that make it possible to lift the box?
I need some expert opinions.
