:Just a word about using roving (glass strands), it works well but has a tendency to float out of the join if you are a novice like me and use a bit much epoxy. This means you end up with some lovely roving where it is no use. I got around this by using a bit of hot melt to hold it where it ought be, ie at the join between the deck and the risers before applying the epoxy. I thought the risers might be a bit fragile to handle before glassing but they stood up to quite a lot of abuse from me (I used Nicks book method, hot melt to the deck and glue between the upright strips). Make sure you have either a good fillet or plenty of roving at the joint or you will get bubbles, I know I did and then had to muck about filling them in. Also dont try and make your glass bend around the inside edge sharply either or you will have bubbles on the inside of the riser section , (yes i tried that too, and then undid it). It is a fiddly bit of the process but as they say in Zen meditation go slowly breathe and smile.
