Same as you, I've tried to get info on the web for a spoondrift (17) which I am building for my wife. I've got the framework 90% finished and am trying to get various ideas on variations on what weight skin to use. I love the lines of this kayak. Very sleek..... So far I've found this kayak to be one of the most time consuming and unforgiving kayaks I've yet tried to build. Monocoque construction such as a PIGMY or CLC is much easier....but like I said, nothing beats the beautiful lines of this craft. Lots of gluing and epoxy work required, and the (full-sized/partial) plans have to be followed EXACTLY... So far my framework weighs a miniscule 18.5 lbs. I am enchanted by the light weight and am tempted to use the 3.7 oz aviation dacron that Monfort uses on his geodesic boats. I bet I get away with a kayak weighing in at about 25 lbs.,which would be fantastic...Anyone who wants to contact me with ideas and questions is welcome, but like I said, its not finished yet. I have a tendency toward excessive reinforcement, and my previous 45lb CLC 17 footer weighed in at a whopping 57 lbs...hope that won't happen on this one...

: I've called them three times looking for info. Got the answering machine each
: time, left very detailed messages and NEVER heard back from them.

: I've given up on them and will be building from other sources this winter.

: Don't waste your time or money calling would be my advice.
