The surface is normal strip - I use mainly larch but I have noticed that on darker woods - mahogany, I`ve seen light smudges - like a jellyfish got caught under the glass. Understandable, the manufacturer says, for weaves more than 150gr/mē (5,3 ouce) they cannot guarantee a clear finish.
It's not about the weight, and how much epoxy is needed to fill the weave.
Moreso it is the clear finish when using darker woods.
I`ll be opting for a lighter weave - 4 or the 3,25 oz. that Bobby is using.
