: somewhere along the way i also made a "traditional paddle" to go
: with the greenland style. they are not finished yet. i still havent
: decided what to do with them.
Well, lets see if I can help you a little here...
Grasp one ( either one ) of the paddles firmly and hold out in front of you, spreading the hands out to approximately shoulder width and balanced along the loom. Make sure the blades are somewhat Verticle, then lower one blade to approx. a 60* angle, dipping the blade into the water and pull gently backward, passed your body, lifting the blade gradually out of the water...
Bring paddle back to the forward position again and start over, this time placing the opposite blade in the water...
This will get you started and as you continue to make these movements, you will find yourself being propelled across the body of water that you have chosen.
O.K. now that you are moving forward.. ( and watching for objects in the water which you do not wish to strike.. ) you will need to.. oh wait, this is the wrong paper.. uh.. hold on there... just keep paddling till I sort this out... Uh... it appears that I've lost page two of the paddling instructions.. Anyone out there that can help Chuck... I think he will need to make a turn here somewhere and I've lost my sheet with turns described on it.. Uh.. Chuck... it's O.K. .. just hang in there and we'll see if we can catch someone surfing through the Bulletin Board and get some help here...
Uh.. Chuck.. chuck..??? Now where did he go... ???
Anyone seen Chuck..??? He's not sure now to use that paddle, not sure which one, and needs to turn.... not sure which way... and... and ... Shucks... I've lost him..
What a way to start the new year... I've lost my first student...
Well.. hey, I dont know why I have to take all the blame.. I mean he posted on the Bulletin board on New Years Day... knowing perfectly well that most people have a life.. and are probably trying to enjoy it, or are too hung over to see the keyboard let alone write a message... I mean... for cryin' out loud... How can I be responsible .. ??
Little help please... ??
Rehd
P.S. ( Chuck.. if you are listening, I'm heading out to the garage where the paddle horse is sitting, gonna carve up a paddle and give it a shot... I'll get back to you when I've actually tried it.. Uh... which one did you use...?? Oh Darn...!! )
