: I use closedcell foam blocks on each side of the dowl that are about and inch
: and a quarter deep by about 3/ 4 wide maybe 1 1/4 long. The dowl really
: can't move and you would have to uncrank it quite a way before it would
: spin free. I like having the dowl run length wise on the boat because then
: the dowl (once loostened) runs along at he highest point of the deck. Once
: you do it, you'll see how easy they are to slide on and off. The dowl
: should be just past your lip in length - nothing further. I also taper the
: bottom (underside) corners of the dowel, which makes it further easer to
: slide on and off. It's not rocket science, anyway will work. You can get
: enough pressure to crack a strip hatch cover, so pile on the extra glass
: on the underside and don't over crank them on.
