I'd love to try a sprint kayak but I don't have enough time to learn to use one. Also, we don't have races much up here so I'm betting it would see little use after the games.
Paul reminded me that I have the plans to the Night Heron, so I'm going to get it built and use it in the Recreational Kayak division. I bopped myself on the head after Paul's reminder, it's length and width should match my strength and will perfectly. One question Nick: under strenuous paddling, how difficult is it to keep the NH moving straight? It is my thought to add a slight raised keel to the bottom and maybe even a protruding bow ala baidarka to make it a good tracker. I can remove them after the games to give the NH back its beautiful lines.
