Thanks guys, I really do appreciate all of your input and advice.
1. Never thought about a softer gasket type edge for a rigid bulkhead member. I like that idea. Perhaps I'm being overly cautious about this little detail, but it does seem to me it's best the boat not be too rigid. Thinking that should be relatively easy to do, easy make look good and probably would allow more dampening than the 3" wide chunk of foam. And it certainly beats giving up 6" of cargo real estate!
2. Seems a consensus for nothing permanent for the heels on the floor. Just worried that the epoxy/glass might leave a courser than desired finish in this area. Sounds like that shouldn't be an issue, but will velcro a mat if need be.
3. As I see it, Minicel for the seat ($20), backrest ($40) (plus shipping), the time involved with creating the seat, and creating and installing hip-plates and holds, makes Redfish's custom seat seem very reasonable. Plus, my backrest on my plastic Current Design 'Breeze' just drives me nuts. Guessing there are better backrests out there, but I like the looks of the Redfish setup. I'll touch base w/ Redfish to see what, if any, mods need be made to accommodate the seat. That may have some bearing.
Thanks again for the responses, and anyone else please feel free to chime in.
