: Anyone have any ideas on how to keep the gloss but remove the sticky stuff.

The very safest would be to use a product designed for taking adhesive off from paint without damaging the paint. 3M makes a product called General Purpose Adhesive Remover. It's safe for fresh paint and doesn't leave a mark provided you use a NON-ABRASIVE rag to wipe it off. Use the same kind of rag you would use to wax your car.
You can buy the product at a painter's supply store that sells automotive or industrial coatings, and if you can't find one of those in your area, 3M sells the same product in smaller quantities at auto parts stores labeled as "Adhesive, Wax, and Tar Remover." It's the same product.
