: Hi all,
: A kayak group in Mobile is discussing ways to construct a kayak launch.
: Problem is none of us has seen a nice set up.
Guess you'll have to use your imagination, and decide what features YOU would like to have. Lots of materials and ideas around.
: This would be a river bank at a park...muddy rainy area with tidal effect of
: about 1 maybe 2 feet but not much current.
: They don't want anything high maintenance and lets rule out a jetski launch.
: Is there a formal way to build a decent low maintenance launch for both sit
: on top and sit ins. Pea gravel..sand....??
What kind of budget are you on?
You can buy, or fabricate dock parts for a fixed height, or a floating dock. Or, you can put in 3 cubic yards of white sand and create a beach. You'll probably have half of that wash away each year, so plan to add more annually.
to be coninued in part two--if that gets through the spam filter
