Here's a photo that may resemble the graphic you're interested in. I like to refer to it as the "Runabout" graphic. The mahogany runabouts many times used holly for the pinstripes (some used white caulking), here I've used Alaskan yellow cedar. You will have to start stripping from the centerline and work towards the sheer (of course the first strips you lay down will have to be the sheer strips). I used two strips of mahogany then a pinstripe, two strips of mahogany then a pinstripe etc. One thing to keep in mind is that the radius of the foredeck and aftdeck are not the same - the pinstripes will not line up at the sides of the cockpit so don't attempt to add them beyond the recess.
I prefer to add the pinstripes one at a time while stripping (rather than pre-gluing them to the mahogany strip).
The "Runabout" graphic has a very classy look - good luck.
