I've used some pigments, bought them from my epoxy suplier so they work fine with epoxy. I've also used paint pigments - the kind used when paints are tinted in shops. I just bought a little of that concentrated paint pigment. It worked quite ok (remember to check that it's not waterbased), but it didn't cover so well. The "real" pigments bought from the epoxy supplier worked very well - epoxy became practically a paint.

I used the paint-epoxy to fiberglassing work too, but it's quite difficult to see if the cloth is saturated. I think it's better to use plain epoxy in fiberglassing and shaded one after that.

To be durable, it should be varnished afterwards - otherwise the surface can turn little chalky as the epoxy degrades in UV. However the paint pigments will most likely prevent the UV going inside epoxy surface, so the degrading should be only at surface...

The pigment amount was about 5%. I also made colored fillets.
