It's ok...If it concerns you, just glue a small second layer of PVC inside the
hull where your heals touch...say 12" X 12" or less. There is no need to
extend the wood floor as it adds weight and work.

The best way to approach concerns like this are to build the boat, paddle it,
and then decide if any changes to the instructions are required. Chances are
you will come to the same conclusions I have.
