Hi Kevin,
As the others posted, yes. I'd say do enough to do a few strips each side at the sheer. As Tim said, it will give good sight-lines. Also, the full length strips should stabilise the forms and lock the shape in place better.
Depending on what way you strip the bottom of the hull, a few full length strips there would be good as well.
