Hi,
I am completing a S&G build, and ready to order plans for a strip kayak. I am going to get the MicroBootlegger as a 2-person canoe for my wife & daughter (and it's a close as I'll get to owning a replica Baby Bootlegger!), but would like some thoughts from others on Nick's other designs.
I'll mainly be paddling lakes and flatwater rivers (I do marathon paddling as a sport), with a few trips in the bay and maybe coastal (rarely, and not too far offshore). Don't need high capacity as I won't be doing extended trips, mainly day paddles and the odd overnighter. I have a Chesapeake 17 for fishing and general paddling, so wanted something that:
- paddles fast and efficiently
- has reasonable stability and can handle a bit of chop/waves
- suitable for an 85kg (187lbs) / 6' tall paddler
- looks good! (hard to avoid with the Guillemot designs)
Current favourite is the Mystery. Any thoughts from those who have paddled one? What about other designs that fit the above criteria?
Thanks for your input.
Regards,
Darren
