I just made a wrc:ash:wrc hollow shaft with wrc and redwood blades. It's stupid light and much stronger than I expected (I can't break it, though I haven't jumped on it). carefully think through how you are to attach the blades to the shaft, especially a hollow shaft. Sorry I don't have any pics, though it is still in 'testing' before the varnish over the epoxy. I'm leaving the shaft bare with a little tung oil.
I've learned a lot about how to lay up the wood and the glass in the blades. email me if you need details or if I can help you design a strategy based on my experiences.
