Redfish Golden, 6 oz. satin weave s-glass, one layer inside, two layers outside (both deck and hull) with plenty of reinforcement here and there. Yeah, that's right. 12 oz of the tough stuff and ready to rumble. Resin is a mix of ClearCoat and MAS. Completely outfitted with decklines, seat, footpegs, bulkheads, hatches, toggles and bungees it will weigh 45 lbs. That's 11 pounds heavier than my King but a heck of a lot lighter than my plastic Avocet. Hatch closure method is magnetic. Decklines are routed through soft padeyes except at the pointy ends where Maroske fittings were used. The entire coaming is recessed by carving out 2.5 inch thick strips to a profile similar to a plastic avocet. This puts the top of the coaming lip even with the deck. It was a lot of work but makes a low profile and very stiff structure.

This will be my rough water and rock garden boat. Since I know I'm going to beat on it, I built it with remnant strips, lots of glass, and coated it with paint. Hopefully scratched paint will bug me a lot less than permanently bruised glass under varnish.
