First, thanks for all the kind words!
I chose the color as best being visible to the Search and Rescue guys . . . .

I find the talk of this color deterring sharks to be very heartening, because the only sea kayaking book I own calls it ". . . "yum yum yellow" because sharks attacked it so readily."

We'll see. Of greater concern around here are the ROGUE MAN-EATING ORCAS(gasp!), which I have never heard of and (probably) don't exist, but vaguely fear nonetheless. I must say that in the transparent kayak I made, I always harbored a lingering apprehension that an Orca, looking up at me, would see only a possibly seal shaped blob on the surface, and might decide to investigate.

I'm much more scared of the 40 degree water temps, though!
Err, as long as there aren't any dorsal fins around . . . .
