Hi,
I have built and installed a backband as described in Nicks book. It has the 2 straps on each side which are connected fairly high up on the sides of the boat. A bungee on the bottom of the seat goes up and secures right under the rear part of the coaming, and a string from the top connecting to the same spot keeps it from kicking over.
Back, front and angle adjustments are very easy... but when I sit in the kayak and lean back, the backrest seems to just sink down to the bottom of the kayak, providing very little support. My bungee is pretty tight, is there some other way to keep the backrest from getting pushed down? It seems like the side straps just allow it to pivot from their anchor points, and the bungee on the back simply stretches out.
Thanks for the help
