My leaning towards front deck closure is based on being able to reach most of the rear cargo space from the cockpit, but needing a way into the front past my feet. Where I'm going to be doing most of my paddling there's not enough reach to get a big swell going, but enough for a nasty chop that comes at you from all directions, so no big disadvantage to a front closure. It's a great relief to know that someone making the opposite decision is using the same logic.
