This is a bit off topic, but I was recently in Christchurch New Zealand and came across this King Island kayak in the local museum. I was unable to look closely at it but it appears to be in pristine condition. It was apparently collected on King Island Alaska in 1890 by the US Revenue vessel The Bear. It is just under 15 feet long and has a 2ft beam. I have put together a composite photo, the best I could manage without flash I'm afraid. There are not a lot of these out in museum land and I have not previously seen this one referenced, so I thought I would put it in here. I do have some line drawings and dimensions on this as well but no HBs and HABs, if anyone is interested in these send me an email
cheers
David
