You would think it would wobble, but that bungee is modertly tight and with it pulling it against the stop block and the shaft it doesn't want to move. It can move and an pretty sure if your turning the boat it will twist a little, but it isn't going to be enough to matter. Going straight, there is no reason to think it will "floop" around. Just to tight.

I added some plywood spacers to reinforce where the shaft goes through the box. I figured that was the weakest point of the whole set up. That tightens up the gap at the shaft. If your worried about it you could add spacers there and make it good and snug. But after testing in on the bench, I am not concerned at all. Any movement is going to minor.
