: Thanks for the reply and I'm certain it's the sun now! I like the double cove
: idea! As for the strongback, I have been vigilant and haven't started
: stripping yet because I want the forms fare. So far what I've done is when
: I had the deck upright I lined every station up very nicely with a string
: going down the centerline. I also checked to make certain my 2" line
: above the DWL matched the 2" line I marked on the strongback, and I
: did this on both sides of the strongback. I flipped the strongback over so
: the hull is up and it didn't take a string for me to tell there were
: several stations off. I strung another string down the centerline of the
: hull and have begun straightening the hull. I'm now afraid when I flip it
: over I'll have problems with the deck and have to realign again. How do
: you get out of this cycle or do you just do this several times and it all
: works out?

Glen's link nails it (and them some!).

Gladly offer more advice, but without knowing details of what you've got going, hard to know what to say.
1. Is your strongback straight, square and true (can it be used as a point of reference?), or not (floating the stations independent of the strongback)?
2. When cutting holes in stations to receive strongback, were all 4 sides of the hole over-cut, or just 3 (or 2)?

Noticed on several builder's blogs pic's that often one (sometimes two) set of holes were drilled through the stations to allow for an internal stringline the length of the boat (since it can't be done along any surface). Looks as though that's how a 'kit' is supplied. I hadn't the foresight (nor had I seen those pics) the first go-round. But next time...
