Your guess is as good as mine. I would try a few very small experiments and see how it goes. Use 1 teaspoon of epoxy and dump it on a piece of cardboard. Then take a teaspoon of the hardner next to it in a puddle and with a knife try to just maybe use half of it or... 1/4 etc and see what you get. That's what I would do.
