Maybe his original post was not clear - he accidentally put some 2-1 hardener in a 5-1 West hardener jug by accident.

The world is not going to change if he experiments and finds that he can salvage his mixed up epoxy hardener and not spent another $40. to replace it. If he hits a good ratio and it hardens great. If it doesn't so be it. I would do the same. He's not recommending for people to go out and mix brands.
