Our local West Marine boat store carries fumed silica in, coincidentally, West Systems packaging. They are not the same company. One can of about a quart volume cost me $8 last year.

Fumed silica is a byproduct of coal fired power plants. You might be able to get some from a utility worker if you know any - The stuff is hauled away by the truckload from the larger plants.
