In Response To: Skin-on-Frame: coating plywood frames (Yost stylee) (Doug Smith)
: Just wondering if people have used polyurethane to coat the plywood frames in
: Yost style wooden SOF. Epoxy might be more waterproof but it is a lot more
: expensive and a bit more difficult to work with. I think it's not a bad
: idea to coat the chines/stringers/keel with polyurethane as well?
: thanks
The plywood is boil proof. Waterproofing is not neccessary. Its not neccessary to coat the chines/stringers/keel. Pine and cedar are good with water.
