: I know that this is a personal choice but I wondering about deck shapes. I
: have my hull finished except for some(more)sanding. It's time to work on
: the frames for the strip deck. I have kept the deck rather low to the
: sheer of the boat. At the ends of the boat I am just finding the width of
: the boat, using the height I drew of the deck and just making a radius
: that falls on the three points. It's very slight curve so I should look
: fine. Just enough radius to give it some strength.

: At the cockpit the deck raises up a good bit higher compared to the rest of
: the deck. I am afraid that just doing a big radius there may look funny. I
: am wondering if it should be more elliptical maybe? I am pretty sure I
: will have to just try it on the boat and see. But maybe someone has been
: down this road and has some advice.

Generally the back deck should be nearly flat, very little radius at all. This does make for an interesting transition around the cockpit, but that's normal. Making it tall would make getting back into the boat if you dump it very tricky and rolling very difficult.
