: The boat I am currently working on is too wide for 60" fiberglass, so I
: am having to use 1 piece (6 ounce) for each side, and overlap in the
: middle by a couple of inches. If I wet out piece 1, wait until it is
: sandable, feather the edge, lay piece 2, wait until it is sandable, and
: feather the edge, I'm not going to have green epoxy for applying the fill
: coats.

: Can I get away with not feathering the edges, or possibly just the
: "underneath" edge, or am I stuck just getting a mechanical
: connection, rather than a chemical one?

I'd put them both on at the same time then feather what edge remains after it's set up.

You can do it the other way too, the resin isn't fully cured for at least a week, once it "hardens" you can still chemically bond to it for quite a while.
