: I have similar problems, but a bit worse.... 6'5", 200 lbs, and size 16
: feet. (Thats U.S. size 16).

: I'm working on my first boat build right now, a skin on frame Greenland kayak
: following the book by Robert Morris. I just wrapped up the wood frame, and
: I'm waiting on the arrival of the fabric.

: I chose Morris' approach because the critical measurements are all done
: according to body size (fathoms, fistmeles, etc.) instead of a tape
: measure. Of course, this also meant I wound up with a boat thats overall
: 19.5 feet long.

: When I sit in the open frame with tennis shoes on, I have plenty of room. But
: I was careful to keep checking foot room at every design decision point.

You won't be paddling with tennis shoes, specially with a SOF, too many things for the laces to get stuck on then you're really attached to the boat, bad thing if you're upside down and your roll fails.

I can't get in any of my boats now with more than wet socks on, even the neoprene treaded paddling shoes won't fit, just not enough toe room. You get used to that :)
