: I would think that if your thinking about building flat panels out of the
: cedar strips, then cutting them out into panels, they would be very stiff

I built my bulkheads for my Disko Bay that way, strips built into a flat panel glassed then cut out and they are extremely stiff, much more so than ply would be if used alone in a similiar thickness. Course one side is covered with CF (had the right sized scraps) so that helps too.
