I am now adding fill coats after glassing the two halves together of my One Ocean Kayaks Cape Ann double. My original plan was to build a rudder, but now I just want to finish and use it sooner. The kit that I have would have a wood core, but would be covered with other materials and look black anyway. So why not just go out and buy a rudder that is ready to mount out of the box. I will be cutting off the last few inches of the stern and replacing it with a solid block for mounting. I can shape this for whatever mount I get, but need to have a rudder and mount before doing so for my pattern. What can you recomend for good quality as well as good looks that would be ready out of the box to use.
