: The CLC kits come with a two-part minicell seat. A relatively thin minicell
: pad and a ring that you glue under it to provide depth and a hole in the
: middle for your posterior.

For my first kayak, a Guillemot, I made my seat like the CLC kits using a ring of 3/4" minicell under another sheet of 3/4" minicell. The ring transforms the flat sheet into a tractor-style seat. They need more support under the thighs. That said I've found them to be quite comfortable for long days on flat water.

Man I've come a long ways from that first kayak...
