Any automotive wax or polish works well. I polished a boat using Turtle wax auto polish and a electric buffer once. It came out nice. Make sure your varnish is well dried/hardened - like a month or so or you may not get the gloss you want. The polishing also removes surface scratches. I no longer do it because I just don't want to bother but it works fine and holds a shine and beads for quite a long time.
