They make a special bolt to epoxy to the inside of the hull to hold it in position so that you don't have to drill holes. CLC sells them with the Yakima pedals. Since you are using Yakima pedals I have a followup question for you. Have you thought about modifying the pedal to make a large foot platform. One of my other loves is bicycling and a broader based cleet distributes the pressure across the foot more effectively. The catch is that I'm putting in a foot pump and I don't want to limit access to the pump.
