I bought a set of those studs you glass into the interior so you don't haffta drill thru-hull holes for foot brace mounting. They're still in the package three boats later. It's just too easy to mount 'em the old fashioned way, and nobody ever faints or barfs 'cuz they see screw heads in the woodwork. In fact, I seriously doubt anyone's even noticed.

I think somebody answered their own question regarding oversized foot pedals. I like having access around the braces, mostly for adjusting them with my toes. Footroom is already limited enough, and in any case I find stiffer soles are my friend.
