Well, go paddle a NDK Greenlander and show me how. With an 18" round cockpit you have to slide in your feet under the deck first, there's not enough room to do anything else. Btw, it's 21" wide.
Alot of the traditional greenland kayaks have round cockpits too, I'm assuming they all entered the same way and most of them are very narrow.
