I'm assuming that you stop paddling when you fish. How about something along the lines of a double paddlefloat outrigger. I think I'd keep it separate from your actual paddle, so you could still reposition yourself while fishing. The big advantage would be that you could deflate the floats and stow the outrigger poles when paddling to and from the fishing grounds, so you don't have to paddle a clunky boat.
