Thanks for the opinions shared - think Etienne's install probably the way to go but have a feeling I might install through the hull as all hardware is at hand.
Kurt what kind of layup do you use in the interest of achieving an ultra light boat and what kind of conditions do you paddle in? Does ultra light compromise the strength or are we overcooking the glassing. Atlantic ocean on the west coast of Ireland means a boat has to be able to take a kicking at sea followed usually by a beach landing...
