It's beautiful.
Your raised eskimo bow might make it lee cock...
If it does, try moving your weight forward.
But you definitely need to verify if it does or not so that
you don't get caught in bad winds and find you can't turn back into
the wind and aim into the waves for survival without a lot of difficulty.
I would go out in 12-15 k winds and see if your boat tries to aim into the wind a little or not while moving in calmer seas.(sheltered water)
changing the designers design can be a dangerous thing as i know from first hand experience but it's not uncurable at all.
I'm not an expert on leecocking.weathercocking...i have tested in mild chop high wind and moderate but not fast current maybe someone more knowledgable should post.
: Saturday we launched Wifeys kayak, dubbed "Little Duck".
: It's a slightly odified Bryan Gorr design. The length has been shortened
: about 90cm (3 feet?) to fit the shop-space. Also the bow has been raised
: slightly, Bryan called it "the eski-look".
: Wifey says it's a bit more lively than the Guillemot, but after 30 mins, she
: had regained her balance almost completely.
: A truly Grand Day Out. Thanks to everyone who bothered commenting my rants
: & raves, over the past 3 (yes - three) years of on-and-off building.
