Hi Dave,
Amine wax, epoxy blush, doesn't dissolve with fresh epoxy. If you exceed your 6 hour limit, scrub the surface or the next layer of epoxy won't stick.

I'm not sure if the dampness effects epoxy curing, it hasn't on any I've used. It will make some polyester resins cloudy.
