Thanks Andy, interesting thoughts. I was looking again at the design last night, reducing the rocker a bit, and was thinking about whether the sides need to be more flared. I hadn't thought it through as clearly as you have though. Your thought that the combination of 'trippy' hard chines and lower secondary being a particularly bad one is pretty convincing. The primary is really high though so it *might* end up being fine, but I'll definitely think some more on this. Thanks.

Yup, Penrhyn Mawr might be *interesting*! I need to hook up with some other people to get out there and have a play - I paddle out of Trearddur Bay a lot but my sensible side kicks in whenever I'm tempted to venture round there on my own...
