: a couple of years, one can always mask off a nice plimsol line and varnish
: the bottom with old fashioned paint. It will still look nicer than the

Thanks Et, I thought that may have been the bottom line. I saw a picture of an S&G with a white painted hull & the timber stripped deck, it looked fantastic, absolutely gorgeous. In fact, I was considering going down that path originally, but for now I will stay with the all timber look, like I said, this will be the last epoxy coat regardless. I've probably been standing too close to the job for too long, at 20ft away it really does look great, anybody that comes in to see what I'm doing says it looks awesome, warts & all.
