Hi John,
If you can find Sails (Sixth Edition) by Jeremy Howard-Williams in a library, there's a photo on page 372.
I found a photo of that headsail only yacht with the mast mounted right aft, also called a delta, on page 394 of the same book. It's designed by Garry Hoyt.
The particular rig has two sails, a main jib and a staysail.

Another photo is on page 430, an umbrella rig from 1895 called the Cyclone Sail. Weird looking and complicated, lots of stays from the sail to the mast. Apparently, it couldn't be knocked down by wind pressure.
