Hello everyone,
First, many thanks for everyone who responded to my first thread. I've settled on building a hybrid night heron, and two big questions remain. First, what do you all think about the high deck vs. regular models? I'm 180 lbs, 6'2", size 13 shoe. At this point, I'm pretty set on the low deck since Nick Schade said he prefers the lower deck and paddlers my size are generally comfortable; if you have additional comments though, I'm quite open to them.
Second big question is, what do I need to build the boat with? Are there any tables that list how much plywood, glass, epoxy, and strips I'll need?
I called CLC, and though it's not listed on their website, they'll sell just the forms for $109; in your opinion is this a good idea for the first time boat builder? Unless I hear differently, I'll probably purchase them.
This should be an awesome build!
Thanks,
Mike
