So what do you do instead of bead and cove please?
Not all that hard to mill. I did the bead first on all strips. You NEED feather boards before, after, and above the stock. If you put a second board 8-10" before the first you can then space your hands away from the task.
To mill the cove, set up the fence so that the stock is between the fence and cutter - OBVIOUSLY this needs a big guard over the cutter. Same 3 feather boards. The second cut here will ensure that the stock is a consistent width. The cove is pretty sensitive to grain diirection - check for each board and ensure that feed direction pushes the stock into the fence - the feather boards take care of kickback, but dont stand in the way just in case. Well spaced hand stop increases safety.
