Is it better to have 2 singles or one double.

I second the others' opinions here, and add one more. When my wife tried our Coho for the first time, she disappeared for an hour. When she came back she said, "Why should I have a minivan when I can have a Ferrari?" That was the end of our idea of building a double. Now, we still have the Coho (hardly a Ferrari, but it seemed so then), plus a Shooting Star (our current Ferrari) and her shiny new Storm SLT, which she positively loves (it's her Lotus Elise, I think).

Sounds like a stripper for you and a Yost-yak for your son (who will change size shortly) would be a good road to travel.
