I do not have a table saw. I rip with my radial arm saw. Hard to arrange a featherboard for it so I came up with the result below. The springs are out of an old washing machine. It actually works very well. I also support the planks well out.
I use a slightly finer blade than the one pictured, but not much.
When all is said and done, blade sharpness is, I think, the most crucial aspect of cutting strips. Cedar is very well behaved and will forgive some level of cackhandidness but, as with all cutting, blade set and sharpness counts, and even more so with strips, where there is not much room for deviation. I concentrate on a straight flowing even feed rather than pushing too hard against the fence.
If I do by chance get a wander and some thinness here and there I still use the strip. One can compensate for a half mm and more here and there by inserting a bit of post card or even doubled post card between the station form and the thin strip (and under the lower clamp jaws between stations) in order to maintain perfect surface allignment.
The occasional slight variation is not noticeable inside and you get full adfantage of book matching if you dont have to throw out strips that are not 100 percent perfect.
I don't use my stripping blade for anything else but ripping strips.
