The plant nurseries here in MIchigan could not raise conifers
nor blueberry plants without the tons of sawdust they apply to the
ground to acidify it. A good mulch for any acid loving plants although
sawdust has a reputation for temprarily tying up nitrogen in the soil
while it is decomposing. Horse boarders also love the stuff for bedding
down their animals. I couldn't imagine dumping it in landfill!
