: If you are happy with the hull shape in general I wouldn't worry too much.

I created the same problem while buildng my Petral. I'm solving it by making a stainless steel cap for both ends. I'm using real thin sheet stainless. I think it will look something like the steel caps you see on cowboy boot toes. Jbird
